What is Tread Together?

Texas does not lack solutions to the youth mental health crisis. Proven organizations and evidence-based approaches already exist. What’s missing is the transformative investment needed to bring those solutions to more children, families, schools, and communities.

Rather than creating new programs, Tread Together works to strengthen and sustain proven organizations advancing youth mental health through healthcare, education, research, prevention, and community-based support.

Tread Together was created around a simple idea: when proven leaders have more stable, sustained funding, they are better positioned to expand their reach and create long-term change.

The Crisis and the Opportunity

The youth mental health crisis isn’t merely an impending threat – it’s one of the defining challenges of our time.

1 in 3 Texas children experience a mental health disorder each year

There is typically an 8–10 year delay between symptoms and treatment

61% of children with depression go untreated

246 of 254 Texas counties lack adequate mental health providers

Solutions Exist.
Scaling is the Challenge.

“Not incremental change. Not modest progress. A dramatic reversal of the youth mental health crisis in Texas.”
